This antique oak barrel is in exceptional vintage condition, boasting a rich, deep grain and a beautiful honey-toned patina.
Originally designed as a "Biscuit Barrel" for the Victorian or Edwardian tea table, its insulated ceramic liner makes it equally perfect for use as a sophisticated ice bucket for a home bar.
Quality Construction: Crafted from solid staved oak with polished silver-plated (EPNS) decorative bands and a sturdy swing handle.
The Liner: Features its original, brilliant white ceramic interior liner. It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, or "crazing" (fine cracks in the glaze).
Hallmarks: Clearly stamped 'EPNS' on the metalwork, a mark of quality British silver plating.
Blank Cartouche: Features a classic "shield" on the front, left blank—ready to be engraved or enjoyed for its minimalist antique look.
This piece is in superb condition. Unlike many barrels of this age, the wood is tight with no shrinkage, and the silver plating remains bright with very minimal wear. The lid fits snugly, and the handle mechanism is smooth.
